THE COMMON CORMORANT

The common cormorant or shag
Lays eggs inside a paper bag,
The reason you will see, no doubt –
It is to keep the lightning out.
But what these unobservant birds
Have never noticed is that herds
Of wandering bears may come with buns
And steal the bags to hold the crumbs.                                              Anon.

cormorant

Haven’t got a pic of a cormorant! Or a bee …

OPPORTUNITY
When Mrs Gorm (Aunt Eloise)
Was stung to death by savage bees
Her husband (Prebendary Gorm)
Put on his veil, and took the swarm.
He’s publishing a book, next May,
On How to Make Bee-keeping Pay.                                                Harry Graham.
